2026-11-03

On October 23, 2026, CCF and Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ) held a bilateral meeting in Chengdu. Chair of the CCF International Cooperation Committee Xilin Chen and Former Secretary General Zide Du; along with IPSJ Board Member Kazushige Ouchi attended the meeting, which was chaired by Xilin Chen.

Xilin Chen welcomed the IPSJ representative. Kazushige Ouchi introduced IPSJ's latest developments and challenges. He noted significant changes in IPSJ's membership structure, stating that while the society is striving to attract younger generations through improved membership mechanisms, maintaining close ties with the industry remains a major challenge. Furthermore, facing rapid AI developments, IPSJ is actively exploring comprehensive transformation from multiple dimensions.

After in-depth discussions, both sides reached a consensus on multiple areas. In young scholar exchange, they will explore normalized transnational exchange mechanisms; in overseas talent services, they will expand contact networks to help young scholars integrate into international academic and industrial environments; regarding AI transformation and membership development, both parties agreed that societies must provide members with more contemporary value and will strengthen experience-sharing in society governance and frontier layout.

CCF and IPSJ have maintained professional exchanges for over 12 years. During this period, both sides have engaged in high-level visits and expanded cooperation through mechanisms like the China-Japan-Korea (CJK) Technical Forum, jointly contributing to the creation of the Asia-Pacific Alliance for Computing (APAC). In the future, CCF and IPSJ will continue pragmatic cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and equality, providing a stable academic dialogue channel for scholars in both countries and the Asia-Pacific region.
