17 Working Committees and their functions

 1.   Committee on Academic Affairs

  • To plan and publish the "CCF Annual Report on the Development of Computer Science and Technology", including call for papers, selecting and compiling etc.

  • Review and release the results of evaluation and ranking of academic conferences and journals recommended by CCF.

  • Responsible for seizing and handling of complaints about members’ academic ethics.

  • Other related academic affairs.

2.   Committee on Technical Committees’ Affairs

  • Revise the regulations and measurement of Technical Committees if needs, organize the evaluation to TCs, accept and review the TCs’ applications for establishment, renaming, reorganization, merger and dissolution, and submit to Executive Board for discussion and approval.

  • When TC election of a new term, to verify and qualify the candidates of election and nomination, and assign supervisors to attend the election of TC.

  • Propose to the Executive Board about the overall arrangement and reform plan of TCs, and advice on TC’s establishment, merger, reorganization or dissolution.

  • Other related to the development and administration of TC.

3.       Committee on Higher Education

  • Classification criteria by the objectives for collegiate computer education. According to different orientations, suggestions and reference on curriculum offered, teachers' requirements, practice course, required conditions, graduates' competence are given, which are recommended to education institutions and release to the society.

  • Building the assessment model for computer education in colleges and universities, and sort from the top based on statistics data and subjective evaluation.

4.   Committee for Enterprises & Practitioners

  • Focus on the activities targeted enterprises and professionals, and build the platform for communication and collaboration between industry and academia.

  • Develop group members and recommend qualified people from industry as candidates for board members.

  • Evaluate computer education in colleges and universities according to the performance of graduates in the position.

5.   Committee on Computing History

  • Identify and declare “China Computer Historical Objects" every year.

  • Interview important persons and record milestone events in China computing industry.

6.   Committee on Scientific Communication 

  • Edit and revise the history of computer in China by CCF members and professionals.

  • Compile and publish series of popular computer books.

7.   Committee for Elite Young Professionals

  • Find outstanding and promising young people (members), and encourage the excellence.

  • Launch projects related to elite youth and organize activities for capacity building.

  • Support YOCSEF and recommend outstanding members to positions in YOCSEF.

8.   Committee on Terminology

  • Collect, translate, paraphrase, validate and recommend new computer terms, and released on CCF platform.

  • The new terms after validation will be submitted to the China National Committee for Terms.

  • Compile the dictionary of computer when appropriate.

9.   Committee on Public Policies

  •  CCF put forward suggestions on education, talent and academic evaluation, science and technology projects (including project establishment, application, finance spending, and achievement evaluation), industrial policies and so on, to the authorities or release to the public.

  • Comments on major policies and related issues will be presented to the authorities or released to the public.

10.   Committee for Membership & Chapters

  • Define the policy of member recruitment and promotion strategy, and build member development mechanism and network.

  • Provide support, supervision and annual evaluation to all chapters, and organize local members polls, select excellent chapters while warnings or suggestion of reorganization to those unqualified chapters.

  • Establish qualification committee for senior members and outstanding members.

  • Preside over the establishment and re-election of the chapters.

11.   Committee for Women in Computing

  • Investigation on the professional status of women in computing, and make suggestions on the occupational characteristics of women and how to safeguard their rights.

  • Organize the activities for female practitioners in computing; promote successful cases of excellent female workers; encourage female students to apply for major in computing and become practitioners in computing.

12.   Committee for International Cooperation

        Establish mutually beneficial cooperative relations with international associations to acquire and export resources, and rise awareness and influence.

13.   Committee on Publications

  •  For CCF conference proceedings (CCFP), to develop publication standard, check and approve applications for publishing.

  • Independently or in cooperation with relevant publishing house to publish CCF papers and works, responsible for managing of all cooperative projects and evaluating the results. Responsible for access censorship and quality assessment of all CCF journals.

  • Effort on publishing the journal--CCF Transactions on.

14.   Committee on Communications

  • Build and run the CCF Ambassador system among CCF members. Expand the communication team based on an effective communication mechanism.

  • Establish a media friend circle for CCF and formulate corresponding communication mechanism.

  • Awards to members and cooperative media who made outstanding contributions for CCF on communications.

15.   Committee on Standards

  • Develop CCF standards in computer and related fields;

  • Promote the launch of testing and certification of CCF standards;

  • Publicize CCF standards and enhance the cooperation with other standard alliances or organizations on standards;

  • Strengthen the link and cooperation between industry and academic  through CCF standards.

16.   Committee on Technology for Good

  • Promote the development and breakthroughs of technologies in the public welfare, in coordination with executive and technical committees of CCF;

  • Cooperation on technology for good with academic, enterprises, foudations and NGOs;

  • Plan and organize forums, seminars, exhibitions and other events in the technology for good;

  • Plan and organize CCF branding events such as Lv Liang intellectual support;

  • Select and announce annual "CCF excellent cases of technology for good ".
