2026-11-03
On October 23, 2026, CCF and IEEE Computer Society (IEEE CS) held a bilateral meeting in Chengdu. CCF President Ninghui Sun, Secretary General Weiqing Tang, Chair of the International Cooperation Committee Xilin Chen, and Former Secretary General Zide Du; along with IEEE CS President-Elect Joaquim Jorge, Director of Membership and Education Eric Berkowitz, and IEEE China Project Manager Wen Yan attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xilin Chen.
Ninghui Sun welcomed the IEEE CS delegation. Joaquim Jorge shared IEEE CS's latest explorations in responding to industry transformations. Facing the impact of AI and changing employer demands for practical skills, IEEE CS is actively restructuring its professional certification system to help young engineers prove their practical abilities. Furthermore, IEEE CS prioritizes enhancing services for younger members, helping them transition smoothly into professionals through mechanisms like student chapters. Regarding the surge in global academic papers and publishing pressures, IEEE CS is researching optimization mechanisms and looks forward to collaborating with CCF on academic integrity and publishing efficiency.
After in-depth discussions, both parties reached a broad consensus on future cooperation. In academic exchange, they will jointly explore frontier-themed forums and publish industry reports; in conference collaboration, they will promote joint conferencing models and support each other's major brand events to deepen scholar interactions; in professional capacity building, they will jointly advance the innovation and mutual learning of professional certification systems and academic evaluation exchanges.
CCF and IEEE CS have maintained close exchanges over the years as a model of international academic cooperation. The renewal of this agreement marks a new stage in their partnership. Moving forward, CCF and IEEE CS will base their efforts on current realities, seek new points of mutual interest amidst changes, and explore new cooperation models with a flexible and pragmatic attitude to safeguard and expand the bridge for transnational academic communication.
