On October 24, 2026, CCF and HKCS held a bilateral meeting in Chengdu. CCF President Ninghui Sun, Secretary General Weiqing Tang, Chair of the International Cooperation Committee Xilin Chen, and Former Secretary General Zide Du; along with HKCS President Dave Chen and Vice President Gordon Guo attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xilin Chen.

Ninghui Sun welcomed the HKCS delegation. Dave Chen introduced HKCS's latest developments, focusing on the strategic opportunities of Hong Kong's "South Finance, North Innovation" Northern Metropolis and HKCS's newly established expert groups in quantum computing, robotics, and drones. Both sides agreed to seize GBA opportunities, leverage their respective advantages, and deepen expert cooperation in frontier technologies.

After in-depth discussions, both parties reached cooperative intentions in multiple areas. In industry-academia-research collaboration, they will leverage Hong Kong's international advantages and HKCS's industry resources to support tech enterprises in connecting with global innovation resources. In youth talent development, both sides will actively explore various exchange and cooperation mechanisms to promote interaction between young scholars from both regions. Additionally, they reached a preliminary consensus on promoting the implementation of CCF's professional certification system in Hong Kong, expanding resources in Hong Kong universities and their mainland campuses, and hosting CCF science popularization events in Hong Kong. Regarding the Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen-Hong Kong tech innovation, both parties agreed to explore a normalized exchange mechanism and encourage joint research in related professional fields.

This meeting outlined a clear blueprint for deepening cooperation. Moving forward, CCF and HKCS will closely collaborate to seize the major opportunities of Shenzhen-Hong Kong integration, jointly build an open and collaborative regional academic and innovation ecosystem, and contribute to the development of a high-level talent hub and tech innovation center in the Greater Bay Area.
