CCF Recognizes Two Professors for Overseas Outstanding Contribution

Established in 2005, CCF Award for Overseas Outstanding Contribution is presented to individuals or organization who have made outstanding contributions to promote China computing industry and development in scientific research, academic communications, talent cultivation and international cooperation.


CCF Awarding Committee decided to honor Professor Lin Mingjie, Department of Computer Science, University of Maryland, and Mr. Li Ming, Chair Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Waterloo, with 2021 CCF Award for Overseas Outstanding Contribution, to recognize their great achievements in computing and contribution to China computing development.

Professor Lin Mingjie is a famous scholar in the field of international computer graphics. She has made outstanding contributions to the interaction and simulation of large-scale physical phenomena, crowd and traffic simulation, sound rendering technology and so on. She concerned about and promoted the research and talent training in the field of computer graphics in China, and actively participated in CCF activities.

He has made outstanding contributions in Kolmogorov complexity, incompressible method, information distance theory, etc..
