CCF Announced 2019 Overseas Outstanding Contribution Award Recipients

Established in 2005, CCF Award for Overseas Outstanding Contribution, is to honor individuals or organizations abroad for their great contribution to CCF and China computer industry through scientific research, academic communications, talent development and international cooperation.

CCF Award Committee has named Professor Philip S. Yu, Department of Computer Science, University of Illinois at Chicago, and Professor Zhang Lixia, UCLA Computer Science Department, the recipients of Overseas Outstanding Contribution Award of 2019, for their outstanding achievements in computing science and great contribution to China computing industry.

Professor Philip S. Yu, ACM/IEEE Fellow is a well-known scholar in the field of computer science. He has made remarkable achievements in the theory and technology of big data mining and management, with H-index up to 154. He has made breakthrough contributions in diversified data fusion, data flow, frequent patterns, subspace and graph mining. He is enthusiastic about academic cooperation and exchanges with China and has made great contributions to improving the academic and international communication on computer science in China.

Professor Zhang Lixia, ACM/IEEE Fellow, is a well-known scholar in the field of international computer science and the team leader of "Named Data Network NDN" project. She has made outstanding contributions to computer network architecture, protocol design, and understanding the interaction of complex components. She helps Chinese scholars to participate in the formulation of IETF international standards, leads Chinese scholars to engage in international frontier research, and continuously improves the influence of domestic academic circles.
