CCF Awarding Ceremony 2018

2018 CCF Awarding Ceremony was held in Beijing on 19th January, 2019. With the theme of "Responsibility, Innovation and Dedication", CCF presented 8 awards including Lifetime Achievement Award, Xia Peisu Award, Outstanding Contribution Award, Distinguished Service Award, Outstanding Education Award, Computer Entrepreneur Award, Outstanding Engineer Award and Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award. More than 300 guests who have contributed to the development of CCF over the past year have gathered from all over the country to witness this glorious moment.

Established in 2006, CCF Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award is given to less than 10 authors of innovative doctoral dissertations in computer science and technology and related fields. In order to encourage researchers to give priority to publish high-quality research results in Chinese journals, publishing native language papers as a rigid requirement for nomination of CCF Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from 2018. In 2018, the recipients of CCF Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award are Jiang Yanyan from Nanjing University, Miao Dongqing from Harbin Institute of Technology, Wang Zhigang from Northeastern University, Yi Xin from Tsinghua University, Zheng Zhenzhe from Shanghai Jiao Tong University for their outstanding achievements in the computing. Microsoft Research Asia sponsor this award for years. At the ceremony, Mr. Gao Wen, Chairman of CCF Board, and Mr. Zhou Ming, Executive Vice President of Microsoft Research Asia presented certificates and trophies to five winners.

CCF Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award

CCF Outstanding Education Award, established in 2012, is awarded to educators who have made outstanding contributions to computer education and talents cultivation, or to those who have made important contributions to the reform and development of computer education in China. The award was sponsored by ByteDance.com. In 2018, Professor Yang Shiqiang from Tsinghua University was awarded "CCF Outstanding Education Award" for his outstanding contribution to the development of higher education in China. Mr. Gao Wen, Chairman of CCF Board, and Dr. Li Hang, Director of AI Laboratory of ByteDance.com presented to the recipient.

CCF Outstanding Education Award

CCF Outstanding Engineer Award, established in 2015 is awarded to outstanding achievements and important contributions in the computer engineering technology and application. Dr. Liu Cong, Executive Vice President of AI Research Institute of IFLYTEK, and Dr. Wu Fengguang, Senior Engineer of Intel APAC R&D Ltd. were awarded, and Mr. Gao Wen, Chairman of CCF Board presented the award to them.

CCF Outstanding Engineer Award

CCF Computer Entrepreneur Award was established in 2014 to honor leaders who have made significant contributions to the development of computer and information industries, and their business performance has been widely recognized by the industry and community. Mr. Chen Zhilie, EVOC Hi-tech Holding Group, won 2018 CCF Computer Entrepreneur Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to IPC (industrial personal computer) industry. Mr. Gao Wen, Chairman of CCF Board presented him with the award.

CCF Computer Entrepreneur Award

The CCF Outstanding Contribution Award was established in 2010 to recognize individuals or organizations who have made unique or significant contributions to the development of CCF. David Alan Grier, former chairman of IEEE CS and emeritus professor of George Washington University, and Professor Xiao Jianguo, Peking University, won the 2018 CCF Outstanding Contribution Award. The award was sponsored by Alibaba Group. Mr. Gao Wen, Chairman of CCF Board and Ms. Liu Xiangwen, assistant dean of Alibaba DAMO Academy, and Senior Director, Strategies and Cooperation Department, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Business Group, presented the award to the winners.

CCF Outstanding Contribution Award to Mr. Xiao Jianguo

The CCF Distinguished Service Award was established in 2011, to honor individuals have a long-term service to CCF for more than 10 years, and make very prominent contributions to CCF. Dr. Zang Genlin, the founder of Keyun Big Data (Guangzhou) Co., won the CCF Distinguished Service Award of 2018 for his service and contributions to CCF. Alibaba Group sponsored this award. Mr. Gao Wen, Chairman of CCF Board and Ms. Liu Xiangwen, assistant dean of Alibaba DAMO Academy, and Senior Director, Strategies and Cooperation Department, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Business Group, presented the award to Dr. Zang.

CCF Distinguished Service Award to Dr. Zeng Genlin

CCF Xia-Peisu Award, established in 2015, in name of the academician Xia Peisu, is to recognize female scientists and engineers who have made outstanding contributions and achievements in the computing science, engineering, education and industry. This award was sponsored by Dawning Information Industry Co., Ltd..

Professor Li Xiaomei, University of Space Engineering, who has made outstanding contributions to parallel algorithm research, and Professor Yu Hongzhi, Northwest Minzu University, who has made outstanding contributions to Tibetan Characters information processing research, won the 2018 CCF Xia-Peishu Award. Mr. Gao Wen, Chairman of CCF Board and Mr. Sha Chaoqun, SVP of Dawning Co., presented the awards to Prof. Li Xiaomei and Prof. Yu Hongzhi.
