On May 19, 2019, CCF Technical Committee (TC) on Database held a seminar on database strategy in Enshi, Hubei Province. At this meeting, Mr. Du Xiaoyong, Director of Database TC, announced the CCF-Huawei Database Innovation Research Program. CCF has recently signed cooperation agreement with Huawei, which plans to invest 15 million yuan in recent years to fund teachers from domestic universities and research institutes on innovative research in the field of databases, in order to advance the technology and competitiveness of domestic databases, train database talents (especially those on database systems), and promote cooperation between universities and enterprises and the transformation of technology achievements.

On May 20, seven members of first technical management council for the Program took office, including:

Mr. Li Guoliang, member of CCF TC on database, professor of Tsinghua University

Ms. Chen Qun, Member of CCF TC on Database, Professor of Northwest Polytechnic University.

The Technical Management Council reviewed and confirmed the guide for application for CCF-Huawei Database Innovation Research Program in 2019. The guide was officially published on May 21. Applicants can focus on CCF website and Wechat public account for further information.
