报告题目:Computer Graphics as Tools for Artistic Design
摘要:Computer science has developed into a popular and relatively matured
discipline whose frontier research requires theory and technologies
from and has impacts on many other disciplines including science,
engineering, social science and arts. In this talk, we report a current
research project of ours in computer graphics. We show how fundamental
concepts in classical mathematical theory are nicely applied in
computer graphics applications, which resulted in the first
topologically robust graphics modeling system, and graphics softwares
that are powerful and can be used to create topologically complicated
3-D graphics shapes. The graphics softwares have been successfully used
in architecture designs by architects, and in designing and creating
subtle and beautiful artistic patterns and figures by artists.

报告题目:fabrication-aware geometry processing
摘要:As the fast development of 3D printing technology, it is now possible
to produce 3D-printed objects with exceptionally high fidelity and
precision. However, it is lack of tools to predict or fast-preview of
the physical properties of the printed 3D objects, such as its
structure stability, motion. Fabrication-aware design technique is to
integrate simulation into geometry design so that the user can monitor
or control such physical properties during the design. It opens up an
interesting research direction for the user to explore design manifold
with the physical feasibility constraint.

报告题目:三维模型彩绘交互技术
摘要:三维模型彩绘是三维模型表面属性(如颜色、法向、置换贴图等)的交互式编辑
技术,是计算机图形学的关键技术之一。研究人员致力于研究自然高效的三维模
型彩绘交互界面,将三维模型表面属性编辑技术普及到普通用户。具体地,本报
告针对三维模型交互中经常遇到的遮挡难题,与指定纹理贴图约束众多的交互难
题,分别提出了可视性层次结构与基于笔画的局部参数化等解决方案,实现了高
效易用的三维模型彩绘交互界面。

报告题目:三维形状的对称性分析与应用(Symmetry in 3D Shapes: Analysis and Applications)
摘要:近年来,对称性分析与应用在计算机图形学和计算机视觉领域得到了广泛关注。
对称性是连接三维形状低层几何属性和高层语义信息的桥梁。因此,对称性分析
是形状分析的核心问题之一。本次报告将对三维形状的对称性分析做系统性介绍
,其中重点介绍对称检测的难点问题——内蕴对称分析。报告第二个部分将介绍
对称性分析在数字几何处理中的应用。

报告题目:Human Body Geometry and Motion Recovery from a Single Depth Camera
摘要:We present a full-body human geometry and motion recovery approach
using a single depth camera. We first build a prior template by
capturing a subject in a stationary reference pose in front of the
camera. Subsequently, intrinsic body shape is determined with the help
of the template using a modified parameterized SCAPE model, which is
also constrained according to height, weight, and gender. We replace
the pose variation deformation in the original SCAPE approach by linear
blending skinning (LBS) for speed; it also has simple implementation
and good deformation qualities. The parameters of LBS are learned from
a human body training dataset, and directly applied during motion
recovery. This modified SCAPE model allows a moving human body be
reconstructed in realtime from dynamic depth data.

美国纽约大学计算机科学博士,美国哥伦比亚大学数学博士。美国Texas A&M 大学计算机科学系教授。是国际著名期刊《Journal of Computer and System Sciences》、《IEEE Transactions on Computers》和《中国科学:信息科学》编委。主要研究方向包括理论计算机科学、计算机优化算法、计算生物学和计算机图形学。在这些研究领域,在国内外知名刊物发表学术论文三百余篇(包括国际期刊论文近100 篇)

Dr. Weiwei Xu is a professor at Hangzhou Normal University in the department of computer science. Before that, Dr. Weiwei Xu was a researcher in Internet Graphics Group, Microsoft Research Asia from Oct. 2005 to Jun 2012. Dr. Weiwei Xu has been a post-doc researcher at Ritsmeikan university in Japan around one year from 2004 to 2005. He received Ph.D. Degree in Computer Graphics from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, and B.S. Degree and Master Degree in Computer Science from Hohai University in 1996 and 1999 respectively.

博士,中南大学信息科学与工程学院,讲师。2005年本科毕业于浙江大学计算机学院,2008年硕士毕业于浙江大学CAD&CG国家重点实验室,2011年博士毕业于新加坡南洋理工大学计算机工程学院。从事计算机图形学与人机交互研究多年,主要研究课题为三维模型彩绘、基于Polycube的几何参数化、人脸几何捕捉与压缩建模等。在SIGCHI、ACM Multimedia、I3D、SPM、SMI、TVCG、TCSVT等著名国际会议与期刊上发表论文二十余篇。曾担任SIGGRAPH、IEEE Visualization等著名国际会议的审稿人。

Dr. Kai Xu is an assistant professor at National University of Defense Technology. Kai Xu received his Ph.D. degree in 2011 from School of Computer Science, National University of Defense Technology. From Nov. 2008 to Oct. 2010, he visited the GrUVi Lab of Simon Fraser University, working with Prof. Richard Zhang. His current topics of interests include shape analysis and high-level geometry processing. He has published about 20 research papers, including 7 SIGGRAPH/TOG and 1 Eurographics papers.
