特邀讲者 Jianwei Huang博士
Jianwei Huang is an Associate Professor and Director of the Network Communications and Economics Lab (ncel.ie.cuhk.edu.hk) in the Department of Information Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University in 2005, and worked as a Postdoc Research Associate at Princeton University during 2005-2007. Dr. Huang is the co-recipient of 7 Best Paper Awards, including IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award in Wireless Communications in 2011, and Best Paper Awards from IEEE WiOpt 2014, IEEE WiOpt 2013, IEEE SmartGridComm 2012, WiCON 2011, IEEE GLOBECOM 2010, and APCC 2009. He received the IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2009. He co-authored three books: "Wireless Network Pricing," "Monotonic Optimization in Communication and Networking Systems," and "Cognitive Mobile Virtual Network Operator Games." He is the co-author of four "ESI Highly Cited Papers", which are among the 1% top papers in terms of citations within the field of Computer Science according to Web of Science. Dr. Huang has served as the Editor of IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications - Cognitive Radio Series, Editor of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, Guest Editor of IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications special issue on "Economics of Communication Networks and Systems", Lead Guest Editor of IEEE Journal of Selected Areas in Communications special issue on "Game Theory in Communication Systems", and Lead Guest Editor of IEEE Communications Magazine Feature Topic on "Communications Network Economics". He has served as the Editor (2012-2013) and Associate Editor-in-Chief (2014) of IEEE Communications Society Technology News, the Vice Chair (2010-2012) and Chair (2012-2014) of IEEE Communications Society Multimedia Communications Technical Committee, a Steering Committee Member of IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (2012-2014) and IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (2012-2014), and Chair of Meeting and Conference Committee (2012-2013) and Vice Chair of Technical Affairs Committee (2014-2015) of IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Board. He has served as the TPC Co-Chair of NetGCoop 2014, IEEE SmartGridComm Demand Response and Dynamic Pricing Symposium 2014, IEEE GLOBECOM Selected Areas of Communications Symposium 2013, IEEE WiOpt 2012, IEEE ICCC Communication Theory and Security Symposium 2012, IEEE GlOBECOM Wireless Communications Symposium 2010, IWCMC Mobile Computing Symposium 2010, and GameNets 2009. He is a frequent TPC member of leading conferences such as INFOCOM and MobiHoc. He is a senior member of IEEE.
报告摘要:The fast growing mobile data demands and the proliferation of advanced mobile devices lead to the emergence of user-provided networks (UPNs), which improve user experiences by exploiting the diverse communication needs and resources of different users. The success of UPNs, however, relies on carefully designed incentive mechanisms that effectively encourage voluntary participation and cooperation of users. Motivated by recently launched UPN business models, in this talk we will introduce two new mobile UPN incentive mechanisms that take users' energy consumption and data usage costs into consideration. The first one is motivated by the social bandwidth trading scheme pioneered by Karma (https://yourkarma.com/), and we design an optimal hybrid pricing scheme that combines usage-based data pricing and quota reimbursement for network-assisted mobile UPNs. The second one is motivated by the crowd-sourced Internet connectivity enabled by OpenGarden (https://opengarden.com/), and we design a virtual currency based scheme that incentivizes cooperation in autonomous mobile UPNs. This is a joint work with Lin Gao from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and George Iosifidis and Leandros Tassiulas from University of Thessaly.
特邀讲者 Bin Xiao博士
Dr. Bin Xiao received the B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Electronics Engineering from Fudan University, China, and Ph.D. degree in computer science from University of Texas at Dallas, USA. After his Ph.D. graduation, he joined the Department of Computing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor. Now he is an associate professor. His research is mainly on mobile cloud computing, smart phone technology, network security, and wireless networks. He is the editor of 3 books and has published more than 100 technical papers in international journals and conferences. His publications can be found at IEEE ToN, TC, TMC, TPDS, TSP, ACM TOSN, and INFOCOM. Currently, he is the associate editor of the International Journal of Parallel, Emergent and Distributed Systems and an editor of the International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks. He is the IEEE Senior member and the recipient of the best paper award of the international conference IEEE/IFIP EUC-2011.
报告摘要:The research of RFID systems is a hot topic in recent years. An RFID system is composed of readers and hundreds, or even thousands of tags. Through the wireless channel, RFID readers can efficiently collect information from tags, or the tagged objects. From 2005, the research community has put lots of research efforts as how to improve the RFID system performance when facing different application requirements. In this talk, wireless RFID system research problems will be first addressed. Fundamental problems, e.g., the tag identification and tag information collection, will be elaborated. We will discuss possible solutions to these problems. If time allows, some other important research problems, solutions and possible future work will be discussed too, including RFID data storage and reader scheduling.

刘晟博士,从事无线通信领域研究近20年,现为华为公司2012实验室中央研究院资深技术专家,已获得无线通信领域欧美及中国已授权专利70余项,近期发表无线通信领域IEEE期刊和会议论文10余篇,在无线通信系统架构、空口协议、无线传输技术等领域有丰富的经验,先后在HSPA、802.16m、LTE、5G、802.11ax等空口标准与关键技术研究项目中任项目经理或系统工程师,近年的研究重点涉及无线全双工、干扰对齐、Massive MIMO、Cloud RAN等领域。
特邀讲者 向伟博士
向 伟,博士毕业于香港科技大学,主要从事Web挖掘、推荐系统、生物信息Sequence数据挖掘、SNS社区分析等方面的海量机器学习建模与算法方面的研 究。2010年初在华大基因组建了FlexLab, 借助云计算技术对于传统生物信息学算法进行革新,成功将个人基因组测序分析成本从1000美金降至100美金。2011年加入百度,至今一直担任自然语言处理部资深研发工程师,主要从事海量用户数据上的机器学习算法研发、数据挖掘、各类个性化技术在商业产品与用户产品上的技术革新与线上实验设计。个人的专长领域是将业界前瞻的机器学习与数据挖掘方法引入到各个垂直产品线中解决一系列攻坚级问题,增强产品线对于用户行为理解、群体特征挖掘、变化因素分析方面的技术深层次融合。
报告摘要:在各个应用产品线中,我们往往会采集到用户各个角度的行为日志,我们常常会思考,这些海量的用户行为日志中究竟蕴含了怎样的价值?我们借助此次讲座抛砖引玉,系统性地介绍 一整套用户理解模型,包括用户模型是什么、用户模型蕴含了什么价值、用户模型可以用来做什么,进而引申出在未来我们能给业界传统产品带来哪些革命的讨论。我们希望通过一些案例分析展示,能够启发各位听众们思考海量用户数据中蕴含的价值,激发出一些技术驱动产品创新革命的火花。

吴迪,博士,副教授,中山大学计算机科学系副主任。2007年博士毕业于香港中文大学,之后在美国纽约大学理工学院从事博士后研究,2009年通过百人计划引进加入中山大学。研究方向包括网络与分布式系统、云计算、网络安全等。目前主持国家及省部级项目7项,已发表录用SCI/EI论文超过40篇,所发表论文包括IEEE/ACM Transactions、IEEE INFOCOM等国际权威期刊和会议,并荣获计算机网络领域权威国际会议IEEE INFOCOM'09唯一最佳论文奖。目前担任中国计算机学会理事、CCF YOCSEF广州分论坛主席、IEEE通信学会多媒体通信技术委员会流媒体分委会Co-Chair、IEEE GLOBECOM-CCSNA'14 TPC Co-Chair、IEEE TCSVT期刊客座编委和多个国际会议技术委员会成员。2011年度入选教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划、广州市首批珠江科技新星计划,2012年度获得广东省首届自然科学杰出青年基金资助。
执行主席 潘嵘博士
潘嵘,博士,副教授,硕士生导师,中山大学软件研究所副所长。在过去十年一直从事数据挖掘、人工智能的研究工作。博士研究方向是非线性特征提取。2004年底获得中山大学理学博士学位后,先后在香港科技大学与美国惠普实验室进行数据挖掘、人工智能等方面的研究。2009年10月通过 中山大学百人计划引进,加入信息科学与技术学院。已在相关领域的国际一流学术会议、期刊和杂志上发表超过二十篇学术论文,其中包括 Artificial Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge Discovery and Data Engineering, ACM Transactions on Information Systems, AAAI, IJCAI, ACM SIGKDD, IEEE ICDM等等。在2005年,参加美国计算机学会(ACM) 举办的数据挖掘国际比赛(KDDCup:数据挖掘方面每年全球最重要的比赛),获得全部三个项目(包括查询分类算法的精确度、性能以及创新性)的第一名。已经获得两项美国专利授权。担任多个国际期刊、会议的审稿人和组织者。
执行主席吴维刚博士
吴维刚,博士,副教授。分别于1998 年和2003 年在西安交通大学获得学士和硕士学位。于2007 年获香港理工大学计算机博士学位并继续留校从事博士后研究。于2008年通过中山大学“百人计划”加入中山大学计算机系。曾于2006 年作为项目合作者赴法国雷恩第一大学,进行学术交流访问。研究方向为分布式计算与自组织网络,包括分布式算法、车载自组织网络及云计算等。已在国际主要学术期刊和会议上发表论文50 多篇,包括IEEE TPDS,IEEE TC,IEEE SRDS等。其研究获得包括国家基金在内的多个基金项目的资助。2011年获广州市“珠江科技新星”计划资助。
