With its origin of CCF Innovation Award in 2005, and renamed as Wang-Xuan Award in 2006 in the memory of renowned computer scientist Professor Wang Xuan, awarded individuals with considerable academic achievements in computing and great contributions to the society.

CCF Awarding Committee decided to honor Professor Yang Guangwen, Tsinghua University, and Dr. Dou Qiang, General Manager and Chief Scientist of Phytium Information Technology Co., Ltd. with CCF Wang Xuan Award in 2021 to recognize their remarkable academic achievements in computer and related fields and great contribution to society.

Professor Yang Guangwen has long been engaged in high-performance computing technology and application, and made breakthrough at large-scale parallel software development and optimization. He also made outstanding contributions to the research and development of ten million core parallel application software, the construction and service of National Supercomputing Center, and computing-supported national substantial research and engineering projects with remarkable social benefits.

Dr. Dou Qiang, Phytium

As the chief architect of Phytium Series CPU, Dr. Dou Qiang has presided over the research and development of more than ten Phytium CPU chips with a number of core key technologies, and promoted the construction of independent software and hardware ecosystem. The application scale of Phytium CPU has exceeded 3 million pieces, providing the security base and core cornerstone for the information system of China's industries related to information security.
