General Information

We are pleased to announce that the 3rd NLPCC student workshop (SW) will be held in Inner Mongolia Xincheng Hotel, Hohhot conjunction with the NLPCC main conference. The SW aims to provide opportunities for students to present their work and to communicate with experienced researchers. The SW will continue the successful experience of the last student workshop.

In order to provide opportunities for students to present their work and to communicate with experienced researchers, we plan to organize the following academic activities:

First, each accepted paper will be assigned one mentor to help authors polish their final versions.

Second, we will invite distinguished young scholars and students to share their successful experiences of performing research and writing papers. For the invited scholars and students, we will offer their travel grants and conference registration fees.

Third, in order to provide more opportunities for students to socialize and study, we will arrange a lunch meeting with well-established scholars. Each participant has an opportunity to freely communicate and discuss with the famous scholars to learn their successful experiences.

We would like to invite student researchers to submit their work to the workshop. Topics of interest for the SW are the same as those for the main conference.

Paper Submissions

The SW solicits research papers that describe original work or work in progress with preliminary results. The first author of multi-author papers MUST be a student, though it is not required that all co-authors be students.

The SW receives Chinese and English submissions. The length of each submission should be within 6~8 pages, including references. English Submissions should follow the standard Springer style format. All papers accepted by the student workshop will be published in a combined volume of the NLPCC 2018 Proceedings series. Selected excellent papers will be recommended to be published at ACTA Scientiarum Naturalium Universitatis Pekinensis (EI IndexScopus Index, Chinese Core Journal) (for Chinese papers) or Springer LNAI series (for English papers), further revisions maybe required to meet their standard.

Submissions must conform to the specifications of NLPCC 2018 call for papers regarding multiple submissions and preparing papers for the double-blind review process. Papers which do not conform to these specifications will be rejected without review.
